Flashlight for iPhone and iPod Touch

Available now on iTunes

Flashlight is a simple tool to turn your fancy iPhone or iPod touch into a humble flashlight to help find your way in a dark room or to see just what that thing on the floor of the movie theater is that you keep stepping on. A variety of colors are available for different types of lighting simulations. If you want to retain your night vision, use the red color, while white offers the brightest option. You can change the color by simply tapping on the screen. It will of course remember your favorite selection.

A million uses

There are lots of reasons why you'd want to use your iPhone or iPod Touh as a makeshift flashlight. It's a pretty handy way to find that right key, avoid walking into walls while sneaking a late night cookie, checking on the baby, or a dozen other tasks.

Choose a color to fit the need

Flashlight features a variety of colors and modes for lighting different situations.

The white light is the brightest, and will give you the maximum amount of visibility. Especially if you have adjusted your iPhone or iPod Touch settings to adjust brightness to the highest level. However, white light can hurt your night vision as your pupils quickly contract. It is also the most distracting to other around you.

The red light on the other hand, does not cause you to lose your night vision. It provides excellent contrast and is not as visible to the human eye over long distances.

The green light is a very soft light. It is often used by hunters and fisherman because it will not spook their prey. Unlike white or yellow lights, green lights do not attract insects. Like the red light, it is not generally visible from far away unless the viewer is looking directly at it.

The blue light is a good soft color good for reading maps or illuminating locks. It does not have the same harsh glare as bright, white lights can tend to have. A soft cool color.
